Turns out it took one day to integrate with two OpenAI services and one from AWS.

GPT3.5 generates limericks based on text scraped from a newspaper’s public RSS feeds. DALL-E provides the imagery, and Polly turns the limericks into audio. It’s a bit cheesy but it works and I was expecting it to take a lot longer.

Key lessons learned were: (1) limericks about hard news stories can get very dark very fast, (2) AI is not going to take over the world because to flush out the bots you just need to ask for poetry, and (3) next time, someone else can do the After Effects work.
